Nota de esclarecimento sobre próteses mamárias
A Sociedade Brasileira de Mastologia (SBM) - Regional Santa Catarina - frente à decisão da empresa Allergan de retirar alguns tipos de próteses do mercado após a decisão da autoridade sanitária americana ( FDA) por suposta associação ao linfoma anaplasico de células gigantes, vem informar a todos que:
1 - a decisão de tirar as próteses do mercado brasileiro foi decisão da empresa Allergan, sem imposição da autoridade sanitária brasileira ( Anvisa ).
2 - o linfoma anaplásico associado ao uso de prótese mamária tem uma incidência de 1 caso para cada 30000 pacientes com relato de apenas 573 casos em todo o mundo e quando ocorre tem uma chance de cura de 95%.
3 - Há relatos de linfoma anaplásico com os mais variados tipos e marcas de próteses.
4 - não há necessidade de substituição de próteses se não houver alterações clínicas ou de imagem.
5 - toda paciente com prótese mamária deve fazer controle anual e seguir a orientação de seu médico quanto ao momento de trocar ou retirar as próteses.
